The Challenge
From event management to business intelligence
Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), operating in Argentina through the Thai Trade Center Buenos Aires, needed to move beyond traditional event management towards an approach focused on generating real commercial connections. The challenge was ensuring that every interaction represented a qualified business opportunity, auditable from Bangkok and verifiable through its in-country representatives. This required identifying high-value importers, validating key decision-makers, and managing diplomatic protocols for government delegations.
Apsis was engaged not as an event producer, but as a strategic partner for trade facilitation and commercial intelligence.
What we did
A repeatable framework for trade facilitation
Outreach and visibility
We designed a comprehensive communication strategy to attract the right target audience. This included press coverage in specialist media, among them a feature in Infobae, alongside a social media campaign. Outreach was completed through targeted email marketing, market research and database development, with personalised follow-up for each prospect.
Targeted prospecting and B2B qualification
We implemented a multi-stage qualification process beginning with 45 strategic virtual meetings via Zoom to pre-qualify each company's interest. Drawing on that data, we applied a targeted prospecting approach to ensure every in-person meeting represented a verified, high-value business opportunity.
DITP Market Survey
We provided full management of the trade mission, covering diplomatic logistics and corporate protocol for government delegations. The agenda included private-sector visits to key Argentine companies such as Toyota Argentina, Expoyer Autopartes and Chango Más, as well as a visit to Buenos Aires' Barrio Chino.
Apsis Mission Portal
A secure, role-based digital hub centralising all critical mission assets. It provided the DITP Commercial Attaché with full auditability through download logs, permanent asset availability for operational continuity, and compliance-grade security for sensitive government documents.
Results
Auditable impact, delivered consistently
The result was a scalable, repeatable model for trade facilitation across three consecutive editions: the 2023 inaugural mission at the Sheraton Buenos Aires Convention Center; the 2024 Muay Thai Fest edition at Raíz restaurant, Puerto Madero; and the 2025 flagship event at the Faena Hotel Buenos Aires, Puerto Madero. In total, 489 auditable business meetings for 68 Thai companies across three years. The digital framework provided the DITP with complete operational oversight and information traceability from Bangkok, establishing a new standard for their international missions. The three editions were led in-country by HE Krit Tankanarat, Ambassador of Thailand to Argentina, and Ms. Apichaya Sopon, Minister Counsellor (Commercial) at the Thai Trade Center Buenos Aires, whose leadership ensured the operational continuity of each mission.
